This 5-day, 4-night stay takes in the main tourist attractions of Haute-Vienne while allowing guests to enjoy Le Bœuf Rouge Hotel Restaurant’s facilities, including 48 air-conditioned rooms, an air-conditioned, restaurant accessible to disabled people, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and a fitness room.

To make group travel easier, dedicated coach parking is available on the square, Place du Champ de Foire, directly opposite the hotel.

Detailed day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: YOUR REGION / SAINT-JUNIEN

Check-in at the hotel in Saint-Junien in the late afternoon.
Settle into your room. Dinner with a welcome drink and overnight stay.

Day 2: CHASSENON/SAINT-JUNIEN

Breakfast and then departure for Chassenon.
- Guided tour of one of France’s finest Gallo-Roman thermal baths.
Exceptionally well preserved, the Cassinomagus site covers almost 15 hectares and boasts Europe’s largest Gallo-Roman thermal bath complex.
- Back to the hotel for lunch.
Afternoon meeting at the tourist information office, opposite the hotel.
- For a guided tour of Saint-Junien’s historic centre, home to a number of architecturally significant historic buildings, including the 12th-century Romanesque collegiate church.
The town’s industrial heritage is rooted in the traditional skills of glove makers, tanners and papermakers, whose crafts have evolved with the times.
- Then it’s off to Cité du Cuir for a 90-minute guided tour of this centre dedicated to the art and craftsmanship of leather.
The centre celebrates centuries of leatherworking expertise while exploring the contemporary uses of a material that has shaped the region for generations.
Back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: ROCHECHOUART/ORADOUR-SUR-GLANE

Breakfast, then departure for Rochechouart
- For a guided tour of the town and its castle, followed by a guided tour of the Espace de la Météorite.
Some 200 million years ago, the Rochechouart region was the site of one of the most remarkable events in Earth’s geological history.
A giant meteorite, 1.5 kilometres in diameter, struck the region at a speed of 72,000 km/h.
- Visit the exhibition centre to learn about the meteorite collision that wiped out all life within a 500-kilometre radius of the point of impact.
Back to the hotel for lunch.
Afternoon departure for a guided tour of Oradour-sur-Glane.
- This village was forever marked by the events of 10 June 1944.
Listed as a historic monument, the village stands as a poignant reminder of the appalling atrocity that took place here.
Back to the hotel. Regional dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 4: SAINT LEONARD DE NOBLAT – LIMOGES

Breakfast, followed by a visit to the Moulin du Got paper mill, on the banks of the River Vienne, near Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat. Discover how this historic watermill has revived the traditional crafts of papermaking and printing.
- During the tour, watch sheets of handmade paper being produced using time-honoured papermaking techniques, followed by lunch at a reputable traditional restaurant in Limoges.
Just a 15-minute walk away, enjoy a guided tour of the Four des Casseaux, one of the few surviving round kilns from the hundreds once constructed throughout the region.
- A local guide then joins the coach for a tour tracing the development of Limoges through the centuries.
The tour includes two stops: one at the cathedral and the other at the railway station. The stops can be tailored to suit the group’s interests. Length: 90 minutes
Back to Saint-Junien to visit a local wine specialist for a tasting of regional wines, liqueurs and local produce.
Back to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: JOURNEY HOME

Breakfast before departing for your home region.
